What's my Body Type: Ectomorph, Endomorph or Mesomorph?

The somatotypes theory by Dr. William H. Sheldon describes three main body types. Read characteristics of Ectomorph, Endomorph and Mesomorph body types to quickly determine what's your body type.

You are Ectomorph if you:

  • are thin
  • are tall
  • are lightly muscled
  • are fragile
  • have flat chest
  • have delicate bone structure
  • have delicate build
  • have little fat on your body
  • can't gain weight no matter how much you eat
  • can't gain muscle no matter how much you train

You are Endomorph if:

  • you are fat
  • you are round-shaped
  • your belly is huge
  • your muscles aren't well developed
  • your muscles are flabby
  • you gain muscle relatively easy with exercises
  • can't lose fat no matter how much you train or how little you eat

You are Mesomorph if:

  • you are of athletic build
  • your bone structure is strong
  • your muscles are well developed
  • you lose fat pretty easily
  • you gain muscle pretty easily
  • you have a V-shaped body

You can be also a mixture between the main types. Don't worry, as most people are a mixture of these types.
