If you feel you've hit a plateau and can't make any progress, try lifting something really heavy. And by heavy I mean something you can't lift or at least you think you can't! For example if you've been doing 18kg biceps curls in 8 rep sets for a long time, try a 28kg dumbbell! You will probably only lift it once, but you'll see your strength exploding after a few training sessions with REAL weights and you'll break the plateau.
